4/1/2023 0 Comments Face2face movie![]() ![]() This interest in him is more an artistic muse type of vibe and not the BOOM BOOM I want you in my room if you know what I mean. It's weird when it picks a person, but I'll explain that in a whole 'nother post that's kind of compliment to this one, its an appreciation/gush post about him (but not gonna gush too much because my simp card can only take me so far, and he's a real person, so it's hard not to feel like creeper straight outta Minecraft-specifically the one from the creeper rap or the cute one from the MC dating sim, you feel me?). This movie caught my interest because one of my hyper fixations has decided that Dacre Montgomery is just the man of the year (or at least for the last 6 months), I do not choose the hyper fixations they choose me, I'm the Pikachu in this situation, not the trainer. I remember seeing the trailer for Broken Hearts when I went to see Tenet with my brother last year, I honestly didn't pay the trailer much any mind, and I remember the "you aren't wearing any pants" joke really turn me off in the trailer, and I couldn't really give you a good reason why other than "OOPS, my asexuality jumped out" and I guess I wrongly mistook that ONE joke as a warning that this movie would be really raunchy (despite being targeted to a feminine audience), which again is MY fault for taking that joke in the wrong way, and I dont know why I was acting like such a prude at that moment when I find stuff like Rip Wii Shop Channel and Baby Got DLC funny, I don't know what I was on, it was 2020 and I was just in a mood I guess. The film is under 90 minutes and is pretty well paced outside of the previously mentioned down time between the leads. What's this? What's this? AN ACTUAL REVIEW?!?!, yes I'm actually reviewing stuff again! Congrats to Broken Hearts Gallery for being the first movie I review since my slump, I can only hope that Eastward will be the first game that I finish and share my thoughts on since my slump. I for one thought that it was going to end the movie on a different note. There was a tension in this scene that could have sent Face 2 Face into a different direction. I felt the scene before the last scene to end the movie would have been way better if it did not end unceremoniously. It has to do with the reason why Teel found Madison after all this time and there is a giant burden placed on Madison that was I felt overlooked. There is also a story point near the beginning of the film that is revisited midway through the movie that I found myself irritated with. If I was a teenager and someone wasn’t talking to me for one reason or another, I wouldn’t sit and stare at my desktop waiting. We see both Teel and Madison meander in their room waiting for one another to respond for different hours into the night. ![]() An issue I had with the movie was there was a bit of down time between our two leads resulting from different arguments. But there is giant growth from both characters that results in Teel taking big steps into leaving his comfort zone and Madison breaking a cycle that wouldn’t seem to end.ĭirector and writer Matt Toronto made face 2 face (along with his brother Aaron Toronto) crafted a story that is consumable for everyone, yet it’s not a movie for everyone. Madison seems to snap over small comments made by Teel that he does his best to remedy the situation, but flounders and upsets Madison to a point where she became irritated and doesn’t chat with Teel for a few days. I took their performances of the modern teenager to be accurate as I have teen family members that can be insufferable and then be a beacon of warmth at the drop of a hat. I was wrong as it works for the story to be played out.Īmerman and Bobadilla both do good jobs as Teel and Madison. The decision to keep Face 2 Face from the point of view of both lead’s computer desktop webcams, video chat api, and cell phones is a decision I thought would be too much of a gimmick. We get to see Teel’s Mom and Madison’s Dad in small doses along with various other teens sprinkled here and there from cell phone video. One secret is not too crazy as it is something that is a believable and is an actual issue that many people may go through and the other major secret is one that seemed a little too bizarre.Īlmost all of the film features both Teel and Madison going back and forth via video chats. Without spoiling, we get small, subtle hints about these secrets through the movie by dialogue between the only 2 characters that matter in the story. ![]() Eventually, we learn one major secret from both participants and see the shame they both endure revealing these secrets to one another. The two start to reveal things about one another during different chat sessions. Face 2 Face sees Teel (Daniel Amerman) reconnecting with a childhood friend Madison (Daniela Bobadilla) via video chat. ![]()
